A festival
built on curiosity.
Breck Sky Fest is being developed by AstroTours.org with grant support from the Town of Breckenridge. The first festival is in November 2026, with room for schools, artists, businesses, and community groups across Summit County to take part.
The core program in development includes school visits, free community stargazing, public solar astronomy, and the ticketed High Country Stargaze. The first round of invitations has gone out to education, arts, film, hospitality, outdoor-access, and dark-sky contacts. Additional hosts and activities will be announced as participation is agreed.
Confirmed dates are November 11, November 27–28, and the November 30 weather backup. Remaining times, venues, and proposed activities are clearly marked TBA on the festival schedule.

You don’t need a science background to be curious about a planet, a distant star, or the light that reaches us from another galaxy.
The program connects telescope viewing with hands-on science, creative workshops, and opportunities to learn about the night sky.
Dark skies are part of the festival’s focus, too. We want guests to experience the night and learn how thoughtful lighting can help protect our view of it.

Breck Sky Fest is led by astronomer Luke Huxley and AstroTours.org, which brings guided telescope experiences to communities, schools, visitors, and private groups in Colorado.
AstroTours is developing the core astronomy sessions. Other organizations can lead their own activities, contribute a station, host an event, or support the practical costs.
